Well after about a month off to celebrate kids' birthdays and such, the Vapeful Dead is back with another e-juice review for all of my fellow vapers. This time, and by request I might add, I am reviewing liquids by Vigilante Juice Co. from right here in Nashville, TN. If you have read any of my earlier posts, you know that I am a bit partial to Vigilante, as they were one of the first "premium" lines I actually began purchasing. But even after trying tons, metric and imperial, of so-called premium liquids, I must say these guys are still one of my faves. Today's review is one of their more unique flavors, so here we go.
Grey Ghost by Vigilante Juice Co.
After doing many reviews for e-liquids, not just here but on multiple sites, I have learned something. The juice you love at the shop, or even love in your first tank, you may hate in about a week. That same juice might make you wretch if you consider vaping it again (see my glowing review of Thunderbird, then call me, I will be in the bathroom tossing my cookies). However, if I make it through a 30 ml bottle and come back for more, then you know its a hit. This is the case with Grey Ghost. Grey Ghost is an Earl Grey tea flavor with lemon and a touch of cream. Yes, I said Earl Grey tea, but you don't have to wait until tea time or hold your pinky in the air to enjoy this vape. Now, for those less refined (like me) Earl Grey tea is a black tea flavored with bergamot. Bergamot is a citrus fruit with a lemony flavor, giving the tea the hint of lemon flavor when brewed. All that is well is good you might say, but how does that translate into an e-liquid. Well, as far as Grey Ghost is concerned, wonderfully. As a DIY e-juice maker myself, I have learned that Earl Grey in particular is difficult to work with, as it tends to completely take over, or in my case ruin, your juice. But the guys at Vigilante found the sweet spot. The vape is very unique. You definitely taste the tea on the inhale, but its the exhale where the "wow" happens. You taste the lemon, and unlike other Earl Grey liquids on the market, you actually taste the cream. Much like an Earl Grey latte. Quite a one-two punch if you ask me. My girlfriend fell in love with this juice, and as a tea drinker myself, I was very pleased but more so impressed. There are a lot of companies out there that can make juice taste just like something else, but is it something you actually want to vape. I love pizza, DO NOT want to vape it, even though many people sell juice flavored exactly that. Grey Ghost has been the reason for a return trip to the shop at least three times, and that is virtually unprecedented for me (only one other juice has been purchased more by me). Kudos guys.
I really can't say that this is a juice everyone will love, especially for new vapers, but it is absolutely one that everyone needs to try. If you have had everyone's grape, strawberry, melon, and other generic flavors, then it is time to mature your palette. Grey Ghost is an excellent place to start. The vapor quality is excellent as well as a moderate throat hit, but the flavor is what will have you clinking your teaspoon on your cup for a refill. Grey Ghost is available online from Nashville Vapor, and is available in 30 ml glass bottles. The Vapeful Dead gives it a whopping 4.5 out of 5 vapes and recommends it as a must try. If you live in the Nashville area, you already know about Nashville Vapor. Swing by at tea time and give Grey Ghost a try. And remember, KEEP VAPING.
